A Lean Six Sigma White Belt is a knowledgeable professional skilled in applying the Seven Basic Tools of Quality, including SIPOC, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys Analysis, Check Sheets, Histograms, and Run Charts. They possess a foundational understanding of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) phases as outlined by the IMS Body of Knowledge. Additionally, a Lean Six Sigma White Belt actively participates in Yellow Belt and Green Belt projects.
A Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a professional who has mastered over 40 Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. They analyze data using graphical methods with Minitab Statistical Software and identify the root causes of problems through various root-cause analysis techniques. Additionally, they demonstrate the ability to create Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Storyboards. Typically, this role is part-time. A Yellow Belt possesses fundamental project management knowledge and is capable of executing the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) phases as outlined in the IMS Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge.
A Six Sigma Green Belt is a professional who has mastered over 100 Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. They possess the ability to analyze data using statistical methods and have expertise in Minitab Statistical Software. Green Belts contribute to Black Belt project teams and can effectively apply 100+ tools across the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) phases as outlined in the IMS Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. They are capable of leading process-level Six Sigma projects and receive coaching and mentorship from Six Sigma Black Belts.
A Six Sigma Black Belt serves as a leader, coach, and highly effective change manager. They spearhead cross-functional projects that emphasize collaboration and teamwork.
